Week 1 ...Maths Strategy

This week during maths we have been looking at making sets of 10 when adding groups of numbers together to make it easier.

For Example....

6 + 3 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 2 + 3 + 5

add 6 + 4 to make 10, plus 2 + 3 + 5 = 10 and finally 8 + 2 = 10.

Hi,

We are a class of year 3 / 4 students at Douglas Park School. We are a very energetic lively bunch who love to learn and aren't afraid to Dare to Dream and try new things. Our teacher Miss Paterson is pretty awesome.

This week for writing room 1 has been learning to discern between fact and opinion.

Here are some examples.

All Blacks are currently ranked no 1 for rugby world cup.

All Blacks are going to win all there games.

The leaves fall down onto the ground.

The making of Autumn has just began.

The colour of Autumn is mostly brown but when Autumn is old its going down.

Room 1 is a fantastic class with a wonderful teacher, we love to learn new things like algebra.We are learning to find different patterns in algebra with 'Figure It Out' books level 2-3. Its very fun!
